PADI Divemaster
The Discount Divers Supply divemaster  course is a program of instruction under the sanction of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the worlds leader in diver training. The PADI Divemaster Course  is the most sought after program of training in dive leadership in the world today.

The course is designed to train qualified individuals as dive supervisors. In this role the divemaster  may oversee general diving activities and serve as an underwater guide. The divemaster  may also serve as an instructional assistant and may conduct Environmental Orientation and Refresher dives.

As sport diving gains popularity, the demand for the PADI divemasters  is rapidly expanding and with this increase, the value of divemaster training  is readily apparent. The importance of the divemaster program  to the sport of diving cannot be overstated. The divemaster   rating is the first professional rating in PADI's leadership training progression. The rating denotes an individual who has a high level of personal diving skill, has instructor level knowledge of diving theory, has had significant training in how to assist other divers, and is able to assume a role of responsibility for the welfare of other divers in his or her charge.

The divemaster program  is somewhat flexible and in most cases can be organized to fit into an individual's schedule. The course consists of three phases:

  1. Personal watermanship and scuba skills development.
  2. Knowledge development the individual develops his or her knowledge of diving theory and practice.
  3. Practical application the individual assists Instructors and Divemasters in teaching dive classes and in supervising groups of divers.

The divemaster course  is a prerequisite to the PADI Instructor  rating and hence the course aims to shape the diver's ability and attitude as professional diving educators. The goals of divemaster training  are to:

  1. Enable the Divemaster to organize, conduct and supervise recreational diving activities.
  2. Enable the Divemaster to effectively act as an instructional assistant.
  3. Develop the theoretical diving knowledge of the Divemaster to instructor level.
