Seattle Octopus Divers was started in March of 2006 to bring people together for some fantastic Northwest diving, good times, and of course a few beers after the dives.

We appreciate Discount Divers Supply for providing the initial drive, expertise, and of course free air for the dive club dives! Please feel free to look over our schedule and come to any and all events you feel comfortable with.

Schedule

Dives

Sun June 4 - Sunrise Beach, Gig Harbor

Dive times are pending but the tides look favorable for 2 dives. This dive is an easy one however there is a fair amount of walking (in your gear) necessary to get into and out of the water.

THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL DIVE LOCATION. We always see 3 or 4 wolf eels and I have seen many giant octopuses at times. Make sure to bring a dive light because the critters are often deep in crevices. Plenty of parking and plans are underway for a club barbeque between dives. Stay Tuned!

Saturday June 10th. Redondo Beach

Join us for 2 dives this robust dive site. Plan to arrive at the public parking area across the street from Salty's restaurant at 4:00 PM with in-water at 5:30 PM. The second dive to be a dusk dive with transition into night. Must attend the first dive to be eligible to dive the second dive. Must be advanced rated or attending an advanced training program to dive the second dive. Primary, Backup, and chem. Light (or equivalent) required.

Redondo is a great place for virtually currentless diving. There are a number of small ship wrecks and manmade underwater structures to explore. The site has plenty of parking, easy access to the water, and minimal swim to get to the fun stuff.

The area is good for night diving because you are always with close proximity to the well lit Salty's pier. We normally turn off our lights and swirl the water with hands and feet to marvel at the phosphorescence.
