Going South on I-5 in the rain. The bus ride was smooth. You could sleep in one of 4 bunks installed in the back of the bus or crash in your seat. We had a few beers and told lots of stories on our way South. We always had a "Shotgun" rider who kept one eye on the road and the other on the driver. It could ruin your whole day if the driver dozed off. Mike, Tyson, and Albert took turns driving the bus.

What kind of Motorcycle makes a good bike for riding the Baja?

Big Fourstrokes. The two strokes don't hold up. 400cc and up if you are over 160lbs. 250cc minimum recommended if you weigh less than 160 lbs. The bikes MUST be in tip-top condition. Baja is very tough on motorcycles and there are no motorcycle shops/spare parts until you get to the southern tip, at La Paz. In all, we rode six Hondas, three ATK's, and three Suzukis. Here is a photo of Don's Honda XR-400R, a true desert machine.
