It would be best to have at least a couple of hundred miles of recent experience on your dirt bike prior to riding Baja. That way, you will have learned the basics of bike handling at a pace that is comfortable for you. You certainly don't have to be a hotshot rider to enjoy a trip such as ours. In fact, knowing your limits and staying within them, is is about as applicable to riding Baja as it is in the rest of life. Average or better physical condition is a must. If you are in poor health, best to consider other options for enjoying Baja. There are numerous tour organizations that offer motorcycle trips through Baja of various lengths. Some provide motorcycles if you need one. For me, the trip ended up being one of those things I figured I just had to do. Life presents you with opportunities on occasion. When it is your turn, go for it! | ![]() |

We drove non-stop except for diesel and an electrical issue we fixed in Eugene, OR.
