The adventure started in Juneau, the Capitol of Alaska. Juneau is located on the map below at the green dot near British Columbia . Juneau is totally landlocked. The Canadian Rockies are just east of Juneau and roads do not exist in these rough mountains. All food and supplys must be flown or barged in. Juneau was founded in 1880 after Joe Juneau discovered gold in Silver Bow Basin.

| In Juneau, it is very manly (and practical) to have a big Ford truck with a snowplow on the front. Phil, on the left, with his Ford F-950. :) :) Mitch, standing tall, helping unload scuba gear and potato chips. |
| Yes folks, that is snow on those tanks! |
We dove from a 37 ft Nordic tug. The boat was a dream. All the latest electronics and set up for Alaska cruising. These boats are available for charter/sale. Charter a Nordic Tug
Everyone dives dry suits in Alaska. Phil and I dove in Mobbys Armor Shell (self donning Dry Suits). Without a doubt, the Mobby's kicked ass in cold water. We were comfy and warm during some pretty harsh conditions. Call me and I'll make you a good deal on one of the these suits (John, 1-877-SCUBA-DV).
